April 25, 2025 – Fort Worth, TX — The International Bowling Pro Shop and Instructors Association (IBPSIA) is proud to announce Lou Marquez, USBC Gold Coach, as the recipient of the 2025 IBPSIA “Ambassadors” Award. This distinguished honor recognizes a lifelong dedication to the sport of bowling and celebrates an individual whose enduring passion, leadership, and service continue to shape the industry.

Presented annually at the IBPSIA Education & Showcase event, in coordination with the BPAA’s Bowl Expo, the “Ambassadors” Award is reserved for individuals of retirement age who remain actively engaged in the pro shop and coaching community. It honors those who, rather than stepping back, choose to stay involved—sharing their experience, mentoring others, and inspiring growth across the industry.

Lou Marquez has exemplified this spirit through decades of work as a coach, technician, educator, and advocate for the sport. A respected USBC Gold Coach and longtime IBPSIA member, Lou’s contributions span pro shop operations, national coaching initiatives, and educational efforts that have uplifted bowlers and professionals at every level. His commitment to giving back through volunteerism, leadership, and mentorship sets him apart as a true ambassador of the game.

“Lou Marquez represents everything this award stands for—passion, perseverance, and a lifelong commitment to elevating our industry,” said David Bolt, IBPSIA President. “His enthusiasm, wisdom, and continued service make him an inspiration to all of us.”

Please join us in celebrating Lou Marquez’s incredible legacy and his continued impact on the future of bowling.
