A Legacy of Vision, Innovation, and Unwavering Commitment to the Sport of Bowling
The International Bowling Pro Shop & Instructors Association (IBPSIA) proudly recognizes Kegel as the recipient of the prestigious 2026 IBPSIA President’s Award.
The IBPSIA President’s Award is one of the most meaningful honors in our industry, personally selected by the president of IBPSIA to recognize an individual or organization whose impact transcends traditional criteria. It reflects deep appreciation for those who have shaped the sport through excellence, passion, and a lasting commitment to its growth.
Kegel’s story is one of vision, innovation, and heart, shaped profoundly by the pioneering leadership of John Davis. His passion for education and understanding lane play forever changed the landscape of bowling. Through his work, John didn’t just elevate lane maintenance, he elevated people. He empowered coaches, technicians, and pro shop professionals with knowledge, giving them the tools to better serve athletes and grow the game worldwide.
Today, that powerful legacy continues under the leadership of Chris Chartrand. With a deep respect for the foundation that was built, Chris has continued to push Kegel forward, keeping innovation alive while strengthening its commitment to education and community. His leadership reflects a belief that the future of bowling is built through shared knowledge, mentorship, and passion.
That commitment to people is perhaps best reflected in the incredible individuals who have come through and helped shape the Kegel Training Center community, two of whom were also recognized by IBPSIA this year.
Del Warren, named IBPSIA Coach of the Year, has long been regarded as one of the most respected and influential coaches in the sport. His dedication to developing athletes, combined with his deep understanding of the game, has impacted countless bowlers at every level. Del’s connection to Kegel and his role in advancing education make him a true reflection of everything the organization stands for.
Additionally, Rueben Ghiragossian was honored with the IBPSIA Ambassador’s Award, recognizing a lifetime of dedication to bowling. Rueben embodies the spirit of mentorship, generosity, and lifelong passion, continuing to inspire and guide others while remaining deeply involved in the industry he loves. His presence within the Kegel Training Center community has made a lasting and meaningful impact.
Together, these honorees represent the heart of Kegel’s influence, not just in innovation, but in people. They are pillars of a community built on learning, sharing, and lifting others up.
