IBPSIA is proud to recognize Del Warren as the 2026 recipient of the IBPSIA Pro Shop Coach of the Year Award, an honor presented to a coach whose commitment to education, collaboration, and pro shop partnership has elevated both athletes and the professionals who support them.
Few coaches in the bowling industry better represent the spirit of this award than Del Warren.
A lifelong student of the game, Del has built one of the most accomplished and respected careers in modern bowling through his unique ability to blend elite-level coaching with technical equipment expertise and pro shop collaboration.
Del’s bowling résumé begins with an exceptional competitive career, where he captured two PBA National Titles and ten PBA Regional Titles, establishing himself as one of the sport’s most respected competitors. But it is his work beyond the lanes that has truly shaped his legacy.
As Vice President of the Kegel Training Center, Del has spent decades helping bowlers, coaches, pro shop operators, and industry professionals better understand the technical relationship between physical game, equipment, and lane play. His commitment to education has helped bridge the gap between coaching and pro shop operations in a way few have ever accomplished.
Del is a USBC Gold Level Coach and one of the most respected instructors in the sport, having worked with everyone from youth bowlers to elite international competitors. His coaching accomplishments include:
- Former Team USA Coach
- Former Head Coach of the Dominican Republic National Team
- Head Coach of Webber International University Bowling Men’s Program since its inception
- Multiple-time NAIA and ITC National Championship Coach
- Recognized internationally as one of bowling’s premier ball motion and lane play educators
Industry leader in educating coaches on the relationship between physical game and equipment performance.
Under Del’s leadership, Webber International became one of the most dominant collegiate bowling programs in the country, producing multiple national championships, national players of the year, and countless collegiate and professional standouts.
In addition to his coaching and Kegel leadership, Del’s technical expertise within the pro shop world runs deep. As the former President of Track International, he helped design and develop bowling balls for AMF, including award-winning products such as the Bull Whip and Night Hawk, both recognized by Bowling This Month as Ball of the Year selections.
What makes Del especially deserving of this recognition is his unwavering commitment to working hand-in-hand with pro shops and technicians. Throughout his career, Del has continually emphasized the importance of coaches understanding the technical side of bowling equipment and has dedicated himself to helping pro shop professionals and coaches collaborate more effectively for the benefit of the athlete.
His philosophy has always been clear:
The best results happen when coaches and pro shop professionals work together.
Through his teaching, mentorship, and relentless pursuit of knowledge, Del has helped raise the standard for what collaboration between coaching and pro shop services should look like in the modern game.
The IBPSIA Pro Shop Coach of the Year Award honors individuals who demonstrate excellence not only in coaching, but in partnership, education, and elevating those around them, and Del Warren exemplifies those values at the highest level.
Please join us in congratulating Del Warren on this well-deserved recognition and thanking him for his continued leadership, innovation, and dedication to the bowling industry.
Congratulations, Del!
