The International Bowling Pro Shop & Instructors Association (IBPSIA) is proud to announce that Alyssa Ballard has been named the recipient of the 2026 IBPSIA Outstanding Youth Collegiate Member of the Year Award, recognizing her exceptional achievements both on the lanes and within the pro shop industry.
Alyssa, a standout student-athlete at Vanderbilt Commodores women’s bowling, has built an impressive collegiate career defined by elite performance, leadership, and consistency. A 2022–23 Third-Team All-American, NTCA All-Region honoree, and Southland Bowling League Newcomer of the Year, she has continued to elevate her game each season while contributing to one of the nation’s premier bowling programs.
Throughout her collegiate career, Alyssa has earned multiple tournament accolades, including two MVP honors and five all-tournament team selections. She has also been part of several historic team performances, including multiple 300 Baker games and some of the highest traditional game scores in program history, demonstrating her ability to perform at the highest level in pressure situations.
During her senior season (2025–26), Alyssa continued to shine on the national stage. She was named to the Northeast Classic all-tournament second team, finishing 10th individually with a 217.6 average, and played a key role in a 300 Baker game at the NCAA Rochester Regional. Her contributions also helped produce one of the highest-scoring traditional games in Vanderbilt history.
The IBPSIA Outstanding Youth Collegiate Member of the Year Award honors a young member who demonstrates a passion for the pro shop industry while actively contributing to their collegiate program. It recognizes individuals who successfully balance academic achievement, athletic performance, and professional development, serving as role models for future generations.
“Alyssa Ballard embodies everything this award represents,” said IBPSIA leadership. “Her dedication to her collegiate team, combined with her commitment to learning the pro shop side of the industry, sets her apart. She is truly a rising leader who will help shape the future of bowling.”
Alyssa’s bowling journey is rooted in a legacy of excellence as the daughter of Hall of Famers Del Ballard Jr. and Carolyn Dorin-Ballard. However, she has carved out her own path through hard work, determination, and a passion for giving back to the sport. A former Junior Team USA member, Junior Gold standout, and strong academic performer with a 3.59 GPA, Alyssa continues to exemplify what it means to be a true student-athlete.
In addition to her competitive success, Alyssa has contributed to the bowling community through initiatives such as supporting the Ballard vs. The Big C Foundation, further demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact beyond competition.
The IBPSIA proudly recognizes Alyssa Ballard as a deserving recipient of this award and a shining example of the future of the pro shop and bowling industries.
